Is there a way we can assign multiple positions in a shift to an employee?

Is conflict a caution or an error ?

For example.

An employee X is eligible for Position A and Position B.
Lets say there is two parallel shift ongoing - Shift A which requires position A employees and Shift B that requires position B employees.
We want to assign both the shift to employee X.

Presently when you assign multiple positions the tools show conflicts. Is it okay if there are conflicts? How will it affect report generations
